How to Celebrate Rakhi?

We often observe no grand scale changes in the rituals, customs and traditions over the years, but indeed realize a shift in the celebration styles and perspectives along with the prevalent times. We have not found any major changes in the way the Rakhi is celebrated as the customs are trailed with the same enthusiasm.

Now we glimpse the preparations taking off much in advance. The market will be packed some three weeks earlier with colorful Rakhis. Girls initiate the shopping and arrangements even fairly before time and love buying new clothes and rakhis. The rush might witness a jump on the sweet shops, the garment shops, gift shops, the people will be seen all around with the ecstasy to buy maximum they could afford.

All the festivities kick-off shortly after the day break. After getting up, every one gets all set even quite early and gathers for the worship of the deities. Subsequent to seeking the blessings of the Gods, the time comes for sister to take the center stage. Sisters often carry out brother’s arti, wherein they put tika and chawal on the brothers forehead and fasten Rakhi amongst chanting of mantras.
